Easter

What do you love most about the Easter long weekend?  For some, it’s the chance to get away with family or friends?  For others, it’s the chance to eat Hot Cross Buns and Easter eggs (YUM!).  For us, Easter is all about the most significant event in world history… the death and resurrection of Jesus!  This historical event, that occurred some 2,000 years ago continues to reverberate around the world.  Not only that, but Jesus continues to change lives each and every day.  We really believe that Easter is worth celebrating because Jesus is worth celebrating!  Whether you know nothing about church or Jesus, or you’re a seasoned pro, we’d love you to join us at one of our Easter services and events this year!

Passover Meal – 6pm Thursday 18 April

Join us as we share a meal together and learn about how Jesus’ death and resurrection fit into the whole story of the bible.

RSVP to chris@lindisfarneanglican.org.au, no later than Sunday 14th April.

(This is the only event that requires an RSVP.)

Good Friday Service – 10am Friday 19 April

Hear the story of Jesus’ death recounted from the Bible.  Sing some famous Easter hymns. Reflect on God’s sacrifice of his own Son so that you and I could be saved.  Following the service, we will be sharing Hot Cross Buns together in the hall.

Easter Sunday Traditional Holy Communion Service – 9am Sunday 21 April

Come and rejoice that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead!  This will be a traditional, prayer book Anglican service with Holy Communion.

Easter Sunday Celebration – 10:30am Sunday 21 April

This service is focussed on kids and will involve a retelling of the story of the first Easter morning as well as a heap of interactive songs, and activities for children like a jumping castle, egg basket decorating and Easter egg hunting.  We’ll also be having a free BBQ.
