For four weeks from Sunday 30th July until Sunday 20th August we will be preaching from the book of Jonah in the Old Testament. Jonah was a prophet sent by God to call people to repentance, only thing is… He didn’t want to do it. We can learn a lot from this book about God,…
Over the latter half of June and through early July we’ve been responding to the Diocesan Vision by reflecting on six questions. This process has been invaluable as Chris has heard from a wide variety of parish members what they love about our church and what we hope and dream might become of our future…
‘A church for Tasmania making disciples of Jesus’ On Pentecost Sunday (4th June) our new vision for the diocese was released. We heard on that Sunday that God gives us the gift of His Holy Spirit to empower us for His mission of making disciples of all nations. How appropriate then that this should be the…
Chris began his ministry at Lindisfarne Anglican Church in April 2017.
Born in NSW, he moved to Tasmania when he was 10 and went to school and University in Hobart. In 2008 he left the Island state for Melbourne where he worked as a Youth Minister for Holy Trinity Doncaster and studied his Masters of Divinity at Ridley College. During this time he met the wonderful Ellisa and they were married in 2010. In 2013 Chris and Ellisa returned to Tasmania where Chris worked in a variety of leadership roles at Wellspring Anglican Church up until the move to Lindisfarne.
In 2016 they welcomed their first daughter Amity into their lives with great joy. The Bowditch's love Tasmania and enjoy exercise, watching Survivor, and eating tasty food. They love meeting new people and look forward to saying hello next time you're in town!
You can follow Chris on Twitter @chrisbowditch to find out more about him.
Emma was born and raised in Hobart, where she started following Jesus as a teenager. After moving to NSW to study and work as a paediatric speech pathologist, Emma moved back to the greener pastures of Tasmania in 2014 with her husband Jimi. They have two young boys who love to play and have great imaginations.
You will often find Emma with a hot drink and a book, crocheting or doing embroidery, and watching Midsomer Murders in a quiet moment. Emma loves the beauty, freedom, and simplicity of the gospel, and wants to see children and families delighting in the Word of God.
We're an Anglican Church seeking to know Jesus through His word in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus lived, died and rose again and that through faith in Him we can be forgiven and restored to right relationship with our Creator.
We believe that our faith can be expressed in both traditional and contemporary ways and are seeking to grow a diversity of worship expressions in our church life.
We believe that Jesus is worth investigating and would love to meet anyone who's interested in finding out more about what it means to follow Him.
If you're interested in finding out more about Jesus or our church, we'd love to hear from you. Likewise, if you've got an enquiry about weddings, baptisms or funerals, we'd also love to hear from you.
